2 Locals To Attend 2017 JMNT Selection Camp

Jordan Pomeroy (Placentia) & Mark Stack (Petty Harbour) are among 26 athletes from across Canada that have been invited to attend the Junior Men's National Team Selection Camp in O'Leary, PEI from August 21-25, 2017. The Selection Camp will take place immediately following the U18 Men's Canadian Championship that will take place from August 16-20 in O'Leary, PEI.

Over 200 male fastpitch athletes born from 1999 to 2003 participated in a series of Provincial and Regional Identifications Camps held across Canada earlier this year. Each athlete was evaluated on their Fitness Level, Speed, Throwing, Hitting, Defensive Play and General Softball Game Play. Intrasquad games took place at a pair of Regional Identification Camps held in Innerkip, ON and Prince Albert, SK in early June.

Following the Selection Camp, the coaching staff will determine the Roster for the 2018 WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship, which will be held July 7-15, 2018 in Prince Albert, SK.
