4. TEAM REGISTRATION FORM

Each Team Will Be Sent A Copy Of The Team Registration Form Which Is Used For Softball Canada, Softball NL & The Senior League.

5. TEAM 15-MAN PROTECTED LIST

Each Team Will Submit A Copy Of Their 15-Man Protected List By Their First Game To Bill Barron.
Once All Of The Teams Submit Their 15-Man Protected List, They Will Be Sent To All Teams.

Notes
Players On The 15-Man Protected List Don't Have To Qualify For The Playoffs.
Players Not On The 15-Man Protected List Have To Qualify For The Playoffs (5-Games Played & 10-At Bats).
Players Not On The 15-Man Protected List Are Considered Free Agents.

6. GAME DAYS (GAME TIMES)

Regular Season
Tuesday & Thursday (6:00pm & 8:00pm)
Sunday (1:00pm & 3:00pm)

Playoffs
Monday To Sunday With Times To Be Determined By The Executive Committee.

Notes
Senior Teams Agreed To Try To Play As Many Games As Possible Early In The Season.

For Example
Weekend Of June 1-2-3, Playing 2-Games On Friday, 4-Games On Saturday & 3-Games On Sunday.

This will be the 62nd Season for the St. John's Senior Men's Fastpitch League!

10. PITCHING RULE (1-FOOT)

All Team Reps In Attendance Were Advised Of The 1-Foot Pitching Rule.

The pitcher must have the pivot foot in contact with the pitching rubber and both feet within the length of the pitching rubber.

The pitcher must, after taking the signal, bring their whole body to a full and complete stop with the ball in both hands in front of the body. Holding the ball in both hands to the side of the body is considered in front of the body.

The non-pivot foot (the stepping foot) must be stationary at the start and during the pause. The non-pivot foot can only more forward with the start of the pitch. Any backward movement of the non-pivot foot during or after the pause is an Illegal Action.

The pivot foot must remain in contact with the pitching rubber prior to the start of the pitch. Lifting the pivot foot off the pitching rubber and returning it to the rubber, creating a rocking motion is an Illegal Act.

11. STRIKE ZONE

Bottom of Sternum to Bottom of Knee Cap (Natural Batting Stance).
The Natural Batting Stance Is The Stance The Batter Takes After The Release Of The Pitch When Deciding To Swing Or Not To Swing.

12. BAT LIST (APPROVED & NON-APPROVED)

The Non-Approved Bat List Has Been Updated.
Will Ask Keith Pender To Provide Updated List.

13. LENGTH OF GAMES (STEPS TO SPEED UP GAMES)

Senior Games Are Taking Over 2-Hours To Complete.
Steps To Speed Up Game Were Discussed.
Teams & Umpires Agreed To Remind Players To Hustle On And Off Field.
New Rules: 1) Automatic Intentional Walk & 2) One-Foot In Batter's Box.

1) Automatic Intentional Walk
Pitchers Will No Longer Be Required To Actually Throw Four Balls For An Intentional Walk.
A Signal From The Dugout Denoting An Automatic Intentional Walk Is All That Is Required.

2) One-Foot In Batter's Box
Once A Player Enters The Batter's Box And The Play Is Live The Batter Is Required Between Pitches To Have One-Foot In The Batter's Box And Not Step Out And Walk Around After Every Pitch. If A Ball Is Fouled Off Or Goes Out Of Play And The Play Is Dead The Batter Can Step Out Of The Batter's Box To Reset. If The Batter's Swing Takes Them Out Of The Batter's Box They Will Be Allowed To Reset Before Entering The Batter's Box To Resume The At Bat.

With The Change In The Junior Age From U21 To U23, The Players Who Are Eligible To Return To Junior Will Be Given The Choice Of Either Returning To The Junior Team Or Remaining With Their Senior Team.

The Next Senior League Draft Is To Be Held In 2020.

Discussion Held On The Senior Provincial Format.
Modified Round Robin (9-Games) vs. Page Playoff System (10-Games) vs. Round Robin (13-Games).
Seeding Based On Standings vs. Blind Draw.

All Teams In Attendance Agreed To Use The Page Playoff System Format (10-Games), With Seeding Based On Standings For The 2018 Senior Provincial.

The Page Playoff System Format Will Be Used In The St. John's Day Tournament In June.

17. 2018 SENIOR LEAGUE AWARDS BANQUET

The 2018 Senior League Awards Banquet Will Be Held At 3Cheers Pub.
Discussed Whether To Hold The Banquet After The Regular Season Or After The Playoffs.
Jason Hill Will Confirm Date For 2018 Senior League Awards Banquet.
